Classes and open-studio session are pre-booked only, please contact us for booking.

What is the difference between a class and open-studio session?

Our classes are structured with 20-30 minute led learning and activities followed by free play in the studio. Our open-studio sessions have no set structure – you can come and play as you want.

All our open-studio sessions and classes, with the exclusion of baby massage, can be booked individually or you will receive a 10% discount if you book an 5 sessions at one time.

We offer a discount for any additional siblings booked onto the same class or open-studio session.

What is your cancellation policy?

As per our terms and conditions, if you can’t attend a class or open-studio session, we will try to accommodate you on an alternative session (subject to availability). Alternatively, you can gift your place to someone else. Please let your class leader know if you are gifting your place.

Can I leave my child in your care?

Express Yourself Studio staff are here to help, however, we are not a daycare and are not responsible for the care of your child while you are in our play space. A parent or caregiver must remain within view of their children at all times.

Our address is 42 Union Street, Halifax, HX1 1PR. We are conveniently located just a short 5 minute walk (0.2 miles) from Halifax Train Station and 7 minute walk (0.3 miles) from Halifax Bus Station.

You can access our studio from Union Street (opposite B&M).

There is ample parking in the area including on-street parking and The Pennine Retail Park car park. Parking at Halifax Train Station is free and just a 5 minute walk from the studio. On-street parking in the town centre and The Pennine Retail Park are pay and display. If you’re not familiar with Halifax Town Centre and are travelling by car, try using our postcode HX1 1PR as Sat Navs can be a bit erratic and send you down the street to a residential area.

Where can I put my pram?

We have limited space for prams in our storage area. It is encouraged that you visit the studio without your pram if practical as the studio entrance is down a small flight of stairs.

Please note: the studio is located down a small flight of stairs. If you bring a pram, please let us know via the intercom on arrival and we will happily help you down the stairs.

Where can I leave my belongings?

We have designated storage for your belongings in our entrance hall.

Please note: Express Yourself Studio takes no responsibility for your valuables.

Are shoes worn in the studio?

We request you remove your shoes and store them in the dedicated storage located in our entrance.

What should my child wear for a session?

We suggest that children do not wear their ‘best’ clothes as we have water play in our role play kitchen and regularly use paint. We suggest bringing spare clothes and socks and always popping an apron on when painting.
